Welcome to the seventh instalment of our weekly \u201cSaturday Shorts\u201d series, in which we\u2019ll be sharing five NFF-screened shorts each week for you to enjoy for free from the comfort of your own home.<\/p>\n

This week we\u2019re back with another five handpicked shorts from previous festivals. From a unique geographical journey along the North Norfolk coast, to a stunning documentary following two teenagers fighting to stay on an island impacted by climate change, we really hope you love this week\u2019s selection as much as we do!<\/p>\n

Description: <\/strong>Jules, a wayward youth, goes into a music store while their girlfriend waits in a car outside. As they pull up outside, the atmosphere in the car is fraught and nervous, and the girlfriend remains Jules that they have come to the shop for a reason. Once inside the shop, a curious bond can be detected between Jules and the shopkeeper, which develops as Jules peruses the instruments and records on display. This could, in fact, be the day \u2013 and encounter \u2013 that changes Jules\u2019 life.<\/p>\n

THE MIND OF AN ARTIST: WILLIAM KENTRIDGE<\/h3>\n

Description: <\/strong>The Mind of an Artist<\/em>\u00a0is a short film produced in collaboration with Tate to visualise the words of artist William Kentridge. The film creates a scene around the artist studio and his process of creation, borrowing symbols from Kentridge\u2019s work to represent artistic ideas, which fill and leave the artist\u2019s body as he works. The studio, the artist and his ideas are presented as changeable but essential parts of one single entity.<\/p>\n

Description: <\/strong>This heritage film takes viewers a geographical journey around the town, harbour and coastline of Wells-next-the-sea, merging both its events and history over the last 150 years into one day. The animation mixes archival and contemporary materials, and the stories, perspectives and recollections of journalists and local residents inspire the narrative.\u00a0Water Marks\u00a0<\/em>was commissioned by Wells Maltings Trust and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.<\/p>\n

Description: <\/strong>As climate change erases the Louisiana coast, the last two teenagers remaining on Isle de Jean Charles fight to stay on the island which has been their family\u2019s home for generations. This is the story of America\u2019s first climate refugees.<\/p>\n
